This gallery provides a glimpse of different student federations that aligned themselves with the freedom movement. The All India Student Federation held its 5th conference in January 1940 and attracted over five hundred delegates from all over India. The conference included a range of sessions discussing various issues, political speeches, and rallies. The movement continued and in 1942 during the Quit India movement, tension between the British government and the student organisations reached its peak. Students recall climbing the college walls to join the rallies, even as the college administrations voiced concern and remained unsure about their participation.
